After travelling to various film festivals, now "B.A. Pass" is set for commercial release. Producer-distributor Bharat Shah has bought the global rights of the movie and debutant director Ajay Bahl feels Shah's association will "benefit the film immensely".
Starring "Chak De! India" fame Shilpa Shukla and newcomer Shadab Kamal in the lead roles, "B.A. Pass" is Bahl's maiden directorial venture, which he has produced under his banner Tonga Talkies.
He held a special screening of "B.A.Pass" for Shah.
"He loved the film. He has acquired 'B.A. Pass' and will be presenting and releasing it under his banner V.I.P Films on June 21st. Shah's presence will benefit the film immensely and go a long way in ensuring a good release. As a debutante filmmaker I could not have asked for more," Bahl said in a statement.
Based on Mohan Sikka's short story "The Railway Aunty", the film has been screened at prestigious film festivals, including Montreal World Film Festival, New York Indian Film Festival, ImagineIndia Film Festival in Spain, and Jeonju-South Korea.
The film is slated for a June 21 release.
