Bharti Infratel's net profit up by 24 percent in Q1

Bharti Infratel Ltd. on Wednesday said its consolidated profit after tax during April-June this year grew by 24 percent at Rs.576 crore.

The net profit during the same timeframe last year stood at Rs.463 crore.

The company's consolidated revenues for the fiscal quarter under review stood at Rs.3,016 crore, which is a six percent growth in comparison to the corresponding timeframe last fiscal year.

In a statement, the company said its EBITDA during the period under review improved to Rs.1302 crore - up by ten percent in comparison to the year - ago period. The same during April-June 2014 stood at Rs.1,185 crore.

 

"India today is one of the fastest growing countries in terms of new internet users. This opportunity can only be leveraged by rollout of quality networks and introduction of new technologies by the telecom operators," the company's chairman Akhil Gupta said.

As on June 30, the total tower base of the firm stood at 86,397 against 85,892 towers on June 30, 2014.
