Vijay Antony-starrer "Bichagadu", the Telugu dubbed version of his own Tamil hit "Pichaikkaran", has completed its 100-day run in cinemas, much to the delight of its producer.
"It's an achievement if a film manages to run in theatre for two weeks non-stop, with so many releases competing for screens each week. The fact that our film has successfully completed 100 days in cinemas means that audiences are still willing to support good content," producer C. Srinivas, who acquired the Telugu rights of the film, told IANS.
Describing the feeling as "unbelievable", he said irrespective of the language, audiences always support good film.
"People wonder how a dubbed film can be received unanimously. I think a good film, irrespective of the language it's made in, will be supported by the audience. Take the recent Marathi film 'Sairat', which was extremely well received even outside Maharashtra," he said.
On an investment of Rs 50 lakh, "Bichagadu" so far has reportedly grossed over Rs 30 crore.
