Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav on Monday said the state government will act tough against criminals to minimise crime in the state.
"We will act tough against criminals to minimise the crimes in the state," Tejaswi told media here in response to reports of surge in bank robberies, murders, extortions and looting incidents.
Stating that the Bihar government is committed to rule of law by ensuring sense of security among the people, he said: "Crime will take place in any society but concerned agencies have to take tough action against criminals without delay. It will send right message and help to minimise the incidents."
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has time and again said the government would not make any compromise on rule of law, he added.
