The BJP on Tuesday felicitated national shooter Ayesha Falaq, who fought with criminals to save her abducted 21-year-old brother-in-law, saying her act will inspire others to act with patience and courage in adverse circumstances.

Falaq was felicitated by the chief of the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manoj Tiwari at the party office on Pandit Pant Marg in central Delhi.

Tiwari presented her a cheque of Rs 10,000 and a solar lamp. Besides Falaq, Tiwari also gave solar lamps to the 16 students, who get shooting training from her.

Lauding the courage shown by Falaq in fighting the criminals, Tiwari said: "Her (Falaq) act gives a message that we should act with patience and courage in adverse circumstances."

On May 25, Falaq had shot two of the kidnappers -- Rafee and Akash -- of Asif from her licensed .32 bore pistol in Bhajanpura area of east Delhi.

The abductors had held Asif hostage for five hours. He was abducted by two men. Asif used to drive a cab at night to earn money.

Falaq had won a bronze medal in the North Zone Shooting Competition in 2015.
