Several BJP leaders Monday huddled at the residence of party veteran L.K. Advani to persuade him to withdraw his resignation from party posts even as BJP president Rajnath Singh refused to accept Advani's resignayion.
Party leaders Sushma Swaraj, Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar were among those at Advani's residence.
Ramlal, the BJP's organising secretary, was also at Advani's house.
Before meeting Advani, Sushma Swaraj expressed hope that party leaders would be able to persuade him to withdraw his resignation.
"I have faith that we will be able to persuade him," she said.
Advani quit from all major posts in the BJP Monday, accusing most leaders of being "concerned just with their personal agendas".
He shot off an angry letter to Rajnath Singh a day after the party named Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as head of the Lok Sabha campaign committee.
