Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah arrived here Wednesday night on a two-day visit to Telangana.

BJP's Telangana unit president G. Kishan Reddy and other leaders welcomed him at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Shah later drove to a private hospital to call on BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao, who is undergoing treatment.

The BJP chief will attend the party's state core committee meeting Thursday.

He is likely to discuss the membership drive and strengthening the organisation in the newly created state.
