The BJP on Wednesday rejected the AAP's allegations against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley that he tried to influence the ongoing probe into the DDCA's affairs by writing to Delhi Police seeking closure of the matter.

"The issues being raised by the Aam Aadmi Party are merely rhetoric and lack substance," BJP national secretary Sidharth Nath Singh told reporters at a press conference here.

"It was a routine letter," he added.

He also accused AAP leaders of choosing a topic every morning to be in the media.

AAP leaders said Jaitley was aware of irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and tried to influence the ongoing probe.
