The BJP Wednesday demanded a CBI probe into the murder of a RSS leader here Monday.

Addressing reporters, former state BJP president P.K. Krishna Das said a police probe would not bring out the truth on the killing as the Congress and the CPI-M were in collusion in Kerala vis-a-vis the BJP.

"Our leaders will be meeting Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and make our demand for a CBI probe," said Das.

The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown Tuesday to protest the killing of RSS leader K.T. Manoj, who hailed from Kannur district.

The same day, the Kerala government ordered a Crime Branch probe into the murder.

"Even the role of CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat in this murder should be probed," alleged Das.

Senior Congress leader K. Sudhakaran told reporters Wednesday that the CPI-M was very much responsible for the murder.
