Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday said the Narendra Modi government in its second term would endeavour to fulfil its resolve to form a Himachal Regiment.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has passed a resolution in the state Assembly demanding that the Himachal Regiment or Himalayan Regiment should be constituted in view of the sacrifices of the soldiers belonging to the state, he said.
"The BJP has always been sensitive to the interests of the soldiers and the implementation of 'One Rank One Pension' by the Modi government is its example."
Thakur said the country is indebted to the soldiers of the state who made supreme sacrifices during the wars, and are safeguarding the frontiers of the nation and maintaining peace in the country.
