Delhi BJP workers on Friday staged a protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence over his failure to provide adequate drinking water and power to the people in the last three and a half years.

The protest was led by Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Manoj Tiwari. Besides Tiwari, hundreds of BJP workers raised slogans against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader outside his residence in north Delhi's Civil Lines area.

The BJP workers highlighted the failures of the Kejriwal government including less power supply, no cleaning of drains that comes under the Public Works Department and not releasing funds for the municipal corporations.

They carried placards that read: "Kejriwal ne kya kiya? Bijli, pani ki samsya se janata trast hai. Mukhyamantri Kejriwal mast hai (What has Kejriwal done? People are facing water and power problems. Chief Minister Kejriwal is enjoying).

The Delhi Police had to use mild force and water canons to stop the agitating workers from climbing the barricades.

Tiwari and some workers were detained and taken to the Maurice Nagar Police Station.

They were released later.
