The ruling BJP in Rajasthan on Tuesday presented an affidavit in the High Court with details of expenditure made during the first phase of the ongoing Gaurav yatra undertaken by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje after a PIL was filed alleging misuse of government machinery.
The court has fixed Aug 25 as the next date of hearing in the PIL filed by the petitioner-advocate Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma.
The total amount of expenditure submitted in the court is Rs 1.8 crore. However, no bills have been submitted along with the affidavit, sources said.
The hearing was held in the court of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog.
Meanwhile, petitioner Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma on Tuesday moved a fresh petition in the court questioning fresh work orders being circulated by the state government among officers to make arrangements for the Gaurav Yatra.
Taking cognizance of his petition, the court questioned the BJP government on the same grounds. The party has sought time from the court to furnish the relevant papers.
