BJP's youth wing Monday announced it will seek to enroll one crore members in its membership drive starting Tuesday and will use the "popularity" of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to bring more youth in its fold.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM) president Anurag Thakur also defended the remarks of Modi that the Congress does not want to answer questions and hides behind a "veil of secularism".

"On the context of the veil, I would just like to say that when the Congress party does not have an answer, it hides in a veil and Narendra Modi has spoken the truth," Thakur told reporters.

Thakur said that the BJYM had set a target of enrolling one crore members in the BJP/BJYM in its latest membership drive. The first phase of membership drive will start July 15, he said.

He claimed after the elevation of Modi as head of BJP's election campaign committee, the country's youth want to associate themselves with the party.

"The first 500 youth to do maximum enrolment in the country and 20 youth who give the best suggestions via social media or in writing for the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections will be invited to have a personal meeting with Modi," Thakur said.
