BMW launches sport sedans M3 and M4

German luxury automobile manufacturer BMW Thursday launched all new high-end motor racing inspired performance vehicles BMW M3 and M4 Coupe priced at Rs.1.19 crore and Rs.1.21 crore respectively.

"Designed using motor sport technology for pure dynamics at the performance limits, they don't just push the physical limits. They also extend the boundaries for the driver, making what was once thought impossible, possible," said Philipp von Sahr, president, BMW Group India.

"Meticulous and passion-fuelled development has underpinned the creation of two high-performance sports cars that set new standards in terms of overall concept, precision and agility."

The new variants were launched here at a ceremony hosted at the F1 racing Track in Greater Noida. Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar flagged off the new variants at the Buddh International Circuit.

 

According to the company, the all-new BMW M3 and M4 deliver superior performance with a newly developed high-revving, straight six-cylinder engine and an all-embracing lightweight design concept complemented by high-quality and elegant ambience.

Both the BMW M models sport a newly developed, extremely powerful and fuel-efficient three-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol engine with output of 317 kW.

The engine responds enthusiastically to boost the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.

The engine is mated to a seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission with Drivelogic which is an innovative dual-clutch system specially designed for the high-revving BMW M engine.

Both the BMW M models come with a package of intelligent safety features aimed at mitigating risk with air bags, active M differential, dynamic stability control (DSC) including M dynamic mode and anti-lock braking system (ABS).

On board the next generation cars have iDrive system the on-board driver information system with touch controller, navigation professional system installed which can be accessed through a 22.35 cm colour display with 3D maps.
