German car producer BMW Group reported 156,437 vehicles were sold in August, hitting a new record of its August sales.
A total of 1,429,390 group vehicles have been delivered to customers in the first eight months, an increase of 7.4 percent, representing the best ever first eight months sales in the group's history, Xinhua quoted the Bavarian company as saying on Thursday.
"Whilst the general economic situation remains challenging in some markets, we are consistently selling more vehicles than ever before around the world," said Ian Robertson, member of the board of management for sales and marketing.
Robertson reiterated that he remains confident that the group's current global sales growth will continue through 2015.
According to BMW, sales growth in August was driven most strongly by the BMW brand's many recently introduced or refreshed models.
