Boca Juniors reaffirmed their interest in signing Uruguay international midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro.
According to ESPN Brasil, the Argentine club's hierarchy will meet next week to discuss a possible offer to Brazil's Corinthians, where Lodeiro is contracted until December 2018, reports Xinhua.
"Lodeiro interests us," Boca president Daniel Angelici said Saturday.
"It's not going to be easy to sign him, but we aren't giving up hope. We will look into it next week."
Angelici's comments come almost two weeks after Boca coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena first made public his desire to sign the playmaker.
Injuries and poor form have restricted Lodeiro to just eight first-team appearances since his May move from Botafogo.
The 25-year-old, who has also had spells at Ajax and Uruguay's Nacional, was a member of Oscar Tabarez's 2014 World Cup squad that was eliminated by Colombia in the round of 16 in Brazil.
