The bodies of two more victims of the Beas river tragedy reached Hyderabad Friday while rescue teams continued their search for 16 other students missing in the Himachal Pradesh river for the fifth day.

The bodies of G. Arvind Kumar and T. Upendra were brought by a flight from Delhi Friday and handed over to their families.

While Arvind's body was shifted to his house in Vanasthalipuram here, the mortal remains of Upendra were taken to his native Khammam district.

The two bodies were recovered Thursday but could not be shifted to Delhi due to bad weather.

The rescue workers have so far recovered eight bodies.

The eight were among 24 students of V.N.R. Vignana Jyothi College of Engineering of Hyderabad who were swept away in the Beas river Sunday when water was released from a nearby hydroelectric power project.

Meanwhile, 750 rescue workers, including the personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Navy divers, were continuing their search for the missing students for the fifth day.

According to information reaching here, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is also being used to take images to locate the bodies.
