The body of a Pakistani undertrial, who died a few days back in a hospital here, was on Saturday sent to the Attari-Wagah border to hand it over to Pakistani officials, police said.

The body of Pakistani smuggler Muhammad Ashraf, who was arrested with 27 kg of heroin in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir in 2002, has been sent under tight security to the Wagah border, a police officer told IANS.

The undertrial died in a Jammu hospital where he was being treated for a kidney ailment, the official said.

After being arrested, he was lodged in the Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
