In yet another incident targeting the Muslim community in Britain, debris from an explosive device have been found near a mosque in Wolverhampton city, police said Friday.

The device was found Thursday night by police officers and army bomb disposal experts, Sky News reported.

The mosque was evacuated but was reopened for worship following the discovery.

The debris was declared safe but further forensic tests will be conducted at the scene.

Police believe the device was activated June 28. The search was part of an investigation into recent attacks near mosques in Walsall and Tipton.

Two men aged 25 and 22, both of eastern European origin, were arrested Thursday in Small Heath, Birmingham, in connection with the blasts. They are being held under the Terrorism Act.
