Brazilian football legend Pele broke down and burst into tears Wednesday as he recalled his celebrated career during the launch of a book about him that weighs 15 kg and is worth $1,700.
The 500-page limited edition book about the player, widely regarded as the greatest ever, is titled "1283", the number of goals Pele scored in his career, and comprises 1283 texts, reports Xinhua.
"This really makes me well up. It is a legacy I left for Brazil," Pele said during the event in Sao Paulo.
"It makes me think of all the people who loved and helped me during my career: My family, friends, the fans," the 72-year-old, three-time World Cup-winner said.
A special edition of the book featuring a signed image of Pele has also gone on sale for $2,600.
