It was the end of the road for Rohan Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi as they were knocked out from the second round of the Wimbledon in a rain-hit encounter here Tuesday.
Bopanna and Qureshi, seeded eighth, went down 7-6(3), 6-7(5), 3-6, 6-4, 5-7 against the unseeded Canadian-American pair of Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock.
The match, which was cancelled midway Monday, sprung back to life Tuesday as Bopanna and Qureshi won the fourth set to draw level. But Pospisil and Sock won the fifth set in an exciting battle to seal the tie in three hours and 13 minutes.
The Indian challenge, however, will continue as Leander Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek will take the court later in the day.
