Brazilian football club Botafogo has announced the signing of Argentine striker Juan Carlos Ferreyra from Paraguay's Olimpia Friday.
Ferreyra is the Rio de Janeiro club's eighth addition of the pre-season and comes just two days after the departure of midfield idol Clarence Seedorf, reports Xinhua.
"I am very happy to be here, it's an enormous step in my career," Ferreyra said during a press conference Friday.
Ferreyra was a key member of the Olimpia side that made the final of last year's Copa Libertadores, before losing to Atletico Mineiro on penalties.
He scored four goals during the continental competition, including a brace against Newell's Old Boys in the group phase.
The 30-year-old is expected to be available for Botafogo's Copa Libertadores pre-qualifier first-leg against Deportivo Quito Jan 29.
