Seven countries are expected to arrive in Botswana for the African States Tournament (AST) of bowling that is scheduled to start Saturday.
Botswana Bowling Association (BBA) chairperson Kitso Robert told a media briefing Thursday that the countries expected to come are Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Swaziland and Namibia, reports Xinhua.
Robert said the tournament will be played under the auspices of the World Bowls Federation (WBF). The winners in the singles will only get world rating points.
The winners in singles discipline from all the participating countries have already booked a place at the world championships to be held in New Zealand.
The tournament will be played at the diamond mining town of Jwaneng, a 100km west of the capital here.
