Brazil back to top-10 in FIFA rankings

Confederations Cup champions Brazil climbed up 13 places to ninth in the latest FIFA world rankings released Thursday.

Despite a 0-3 defeat against hosts Brazil in Sunday's final, Spain continue to lead the way atop the rankings ahead of Germany and Colombia, which climbed four places to a personal best third, thanks to some impressive performances in the World Cup qualifiers, reports Xinhua.

Cote d'Ivoire leads African teams at No.13 while Africa's second best team Ghana dropped three places to 24th.

Japan, which also played at the Confederations Cup, leads Asia at No.37 while New Zealand is Oceania's best at No.55, up by two.
