Highly rated Brazilian striker Marinho is reportedly poised to sign for Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai.
On Monday, the 26-year-old embarked on a flight to the United Arab Emirates, where Changchun Yatai are currently in pre-season training, Xinhua news agency quoted Brazilian publication Uol Esporte as reporting.
It added that Marinho would undergo a medical before signing a contract.
Last week Marinho confirmed that he planned to leave Brazilian Serie A club Vitoria due to a "surreal" offer from a foreign club.
Rio de Janeiro giants Flamengo were also reportedly interested in signing the forward but could not compete with the salaries offered in China.
Marinho scored 11 goals in 26 matches for Vitoria last year, helping the club avoid relegation to Brazil's Serie B.
