Briton gets death for blasphemy in Pakistan

A Pakistani-born Briton has been sentenced to death for blasphemy Thursday, a media report said Friday.

Mohammad Asghar, 65, was also fined Pakistani Rs.1 million ($9,500) by a court in the adjacent Rawalpindi city, Dawn reported.

Asghar was arrested in 2010 after he wrote letters to different people, including a police officer, claiming he was a prophet.
