Two brothers, one of whom was a principal of an inter college, were on Thursday shot dead in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Ramji Singh, principal of Swami Devanand Inter College in Math, and his brother Vijay Bahadur Singh were going on a motorcycle to their village when they were intercepted by a group of armed men near Rewli.
The assailants shot them and sped away. Both victims died on the spot.
Police said they have registered a case against unidentified people and were probing the matter.
In the past, too, attempts on the lives of the victims had been made, police said.
