Stock exchange platform BSE on Monday said it has partnered with social networking service Twitter to provide real-time market updates via tweets and direct messages (DM).
"Asia's first stock exchange, BSE (@BSEIndia) and Twitter announced a partnership today to provide real-time market updates on Twitter via auto Tweets, DMs and more," the BSE said in a statement.
"Twitter is the first international social media platform that the BSE is leveraging to enable millions of Indian investors to access stock-related information via a digital platform with ease," it added.
According to the BSE, this partnership is a move towards democratising financial information for the business community in the growing economy, and providing on-demand financial information and content to users.
"With this tie-up with Twitter, we genuinely hope that investors and businessmen will find accurate and real-time information disseminated through Twitter very useful," said Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BSE India.
"We believe this association will also aid in fulfilling the mission of Digital India," Chauhan added.
