The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday handed over a Pakistani national, who had crossed the international border in Punjab's Gurdaspur sector, to Pakistan Rangers.
The Pakistani national, Sawaj, a resident of Narowal district in Pakistani Punjab, had inadvertently crossed the international boundary on Monday, entered into Indian territory and reached near the BSF fence, a BSF spokesman said.
The incident took place near the border outpost Darya Mansoor in Gurdaspur sector, 280 km from here.
"During questioning, the Pakistani man revealed that he had left his house due to some family dispute and inadvertently crossed the international boundary. Nothing objectionable was recovered from his possession," the spokesman said.
He said that the Pakistan Rangers were contacted on Tuesday and Sawaj was handed over to them on humanitarian grounds.
The spokesman said four Pakistani inadvertent border crossers have been handed over to Pakistan Rangers by BSF in Punjab sector so far in 2015.
