Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have recovered 350 grams of heroin like powder and arrested three persons during a joint raid with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) from Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
Acting on a tip off, the BSF troopers of Astrosiya outpost in Murshidabad district conducted a joint operation with the NCB Kolkata officials and apprehended three suspects with 350 grams of light brown powder suspected to be heroin on Tuesday, a BSF official said.
"Three suspects named Md. Khairul Islam, Obaidul Rahaman and Ajmer Seikh were apprehended from the platform no.1 of Bhagwangola Railway Station and 350 grams of light brown powder suspected to be heroin, was recovered from them," R.P.S. Jaiswal, DIG (Public Relations Officer) of BSF South Bengal Frontier, said in a release.
The South Bengal Frontier of the BSF has already seized 9.45 kgs of Narcotics and apprehended eight smugglers in 2017, the official added.
