Border Security Force (BSF) troopers have recovered five kg of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in Ferozepur sector of Punjab, a BSF spokesman said Friday.

The heroin, in five packets, was found near the Mohamdiwala border out post in Ferozepur sector, 280 km from here.

The heroin is valued at Rs.25 crore in the international market.

The packets were recovered following a tip-off about the narcotics being smuggled into India from Pakistan.

With the latest seizure, the BSF has seized nearly 45 kg of heroin this year. The seizure last year (2014) in the Punjab sector was 361 kg.
