A court here Friday sent the abductor of a construction firm's director and his son to five days of police remand, police said.

Rajesh Pinchu, who had a reward of Rs.one lakh on his head, was arrested from Delhi's Greater Kailash colony last week and was taken to Gurgaon on a production warrant Thursday.

Pinchu and his gang had kidnapped director of JMD Group Sunil Bedi and his son Karan from Gurgaon March 1 for a ransom of Rs.20 crore, a police official said.

While Karan was kept hostage, Bedi was sent back to arrange the money. However, the plan was foiled after cops learnt about it. The gang got only Rs.10 lakh from Bedi, while Karan was released after they came under police scanner.

Pinchu has been charged under sections 364 (abducting in order to murder), 364A (kidnapping for ransom), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and arms act.
