Burglar gang targeting apartments busted in Ghaziabad

A gang of burglars which specialised in breaking into flats in multi-storeyed societies was busted here with the arrest of three people, police said on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference, Circle Officer, Indirapuram Atul Yadav said that a police patrol on Monday night in sector-3 Vasundhara, saw three people acting suspiciously and asked them to stop. The three tried to flee but the police team chased and nabbed them.

The trio was taken to the Indirapuram police station where they confessed that they were a specialised gang, committing burglaries in apartments of housing societies in Ghaziabad and Noida.

Police recovered jewellery worth over Rs.10 lakh, Rs.50,000 cash, a LED TV, instruments to break padlocks and latches and two knives from their possession. The jewellery included 20 gold rings, 3 wrist watches, 4 gold chains, 8 ear rings, a Buddha idol, a Ganesha idol.

 

The three identified themselves as Kamal Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad, Mahendra, and Lalit, both residents of Delhi.

"We have invited the victims to verify their stolen product in the police station," added the CO.
