India and Britain have shown political will to push their bilateral relations, and it is now for the business communities of the two sides to take it forward, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here on Friday.
Addressing the UK-India CEO forum, the prime minister was particularly keen on overseas investments flowing into the railways and defence sector.
"India and the United Kingdom are economically made for each other. This relationship has to be driven by private sector CEOs," Modi said.
British Prime Minister David Cameron also articulated a similar position.
"We both have the political will to take our economic relationship forward," Cameron said during his intervention at the forum meet.
Modi also said India was ceaselessly working to integrate its economy with the world's. "We are confidently, consistently and ceaselessly working to integrate our economy with the world."
On Thursday, deals worth 9.3 billion pounds ($14.2 billion) were signed between the two countries.
