"C.I.D", one of the longest running detective shows on television, will air its 1000th episode Friday. The episode will show the team investigating a case related to a dangerous island with life threatening situations.
The crime show has been running successfully for the last 16 years.
"I am overwhelmed with the audience's response. Completing 1000 episodes is really a great achievement for the whole 'C.I.D' team. I wish and pray to keep growing in the same flow and complete 1000 episodes more," said Shivaji Satyam, who plays ACP Pradyuman in the show, in a statement.
Directed and produced by B.P. Singh, the show is aired on Sony and also stars Aditya Shrivastav as Abhijit, Narendra Gupta as Salunke and Anshaa Sayyed as Purvi.
Dayanand Shetty, who plays Daya in the show, gives the credit to the entire team for the success.
"The success of this show lies in the hands of our entire team and our fans who have given us so much love and support. The whole journey has been wonderful. I got to learn a lot from my senior actors and I hope that we keep entertaining our audiences with 1,000 episodes more," said Dayanand.
