The union cabinet on Wednesday approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for boosting healthcare in India and the Maldives.
The MoU, inked on January in 2014, paves the way for exchange and training of doctors and assistance in development of human resources and medical and health research development.
"Under the MoU several new steps will be taken such as management of healthcare sector and public health services, procurement of generic and essential drugs and assistance in sourcing of drug supplies and cooperation in the field of traditional and complementary medicine," the health ministry said in a statement.
