At least 119 Cambodian workers at a South Korean-owned toy factory fell ill on Thursday after they were exposed to pesticide that farmers used nearby.
"Some 119 workers, at the PPNP Soya Toy factory had fatigue, dizziness and nausea after they inhaled pesticide fumes that farmers sprayed on their crops near the factory," Cheav Bunrith, spokesman for the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), said.
The factory is located in Kandal province, Xinhua news agency reported. It has a total of 227 workers.
According to the NSSF, nine victims were in critical condition.
