Cameroonian striker Joel Tagueu scored two first-half goals as Brazilian football club Avai upset hosts Botafogo 2-0 in Brazil's Serie A championship.
The 23-year-old struck in the sixth and 17th minutes against his former club as Avai posted their second win of the season on Monday, reports Xinhua news agency.
The result at the Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio left the Florianopolis-based outfit 19th in the 20-team standings with eight points while Botafogo were seventh with 15 points.
Joel was playing in just his second match for Avai, having been released by Botafogo in May after just one goal in 10 appearances for the Rio de Janeiro club.
"That's football. Unfortunately these things happen," Joel told SportTV after the match.
"It was a transfer and I had no say in the decision. I still have good friends at the club."
