Actor-comedian Jim Carrey, who feels gun laws should be stricter in the US, has apologised for his "outrage" against the defenders of gun rights.
Carrey, who recently announced that he was not even in favour of the level of violence shown in his upcoming film "Kick-Ass 2", took to Twitter to apologise, reports eonline.com.
"Assault rifle fans, I do not agree with you, nor do I fear you but I do love you and I'm sorry that in my outrage I called you names. That was wrong," wrote Carrey.
"I don't need a crisis manager, just a conscience. Calling people names is inappropriate, but my position on assault weapons hasn't changed," he added.
