Dallas Mavericks veteran Vince Carter was suspended one game after elbowing another player, announced the NBA league office Friday.
The 16-year veteran was expected to miss the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Carter elbowed rookie center Stevens in the third quarter of Mavs' 107-93 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was ejected after that incident, reported Xinhua.
"More than anything, there's a lot of people watching the game of basketball and they want to clean that stuff up because it's not needed," said Carter.
"You hate to see it. That's why I wanted to apologize to all fans and all the people watching."
