Ghaziabad police Monday registered a criminal case against a person for posting derogatory remarks against former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's daughter and AAP leader Alka Lamba on Facebook.

The police said following the complaint of Ghaziabad Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) district executive member Chetan Tyagi, police registered the complaint under Section 66 of the Information Technology Act and Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code against B.K. Jagotia.

The investigation has been assigned to the crime branch.

In his complaint Oct 4 to the Sihani Gate police station, Tyagi said Jagotia has posted derogatory remarks against Kejriwal's daughter and Lamba on Facebook.

Police officer Ashok Shishodia said the allegations were found true during investigation, and so the complaint was registered.
