Cashless treatment for accident victims

New Delhi, April 22 (IANS) The government has decided to launch a pilot project to provide cashless treatment to road accident victims on the Gurgaon-Jaipur highway, parliament was told Monday.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed in this connection by the the road transport and highways ministry with the ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co.

"The project envisages transport of accident victims to hospital and, where required, from one hospital to another and treatment at a public or private hospital for the first 48 hours or Rs.30,000 whichever is earlier," the minister said.
