The CBI on Friday arrested an Intelligence Bureau (IB) official and a Delhi Police Inspector as part of its probe into an alleged racket of transfers and postings of government servants, an official said.

The IB official Kameshwar, known by his first name, and Inspector Banay Singh Meena were arrested two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR against them and subsequently nabbed two private persons -- Rajan Kumar and Arun Tiwari -- in connection with the case.

Both Kumar and Tiwari are currently under six-day CBI custody.

According to CBI FIR, Meena, who is a posted in Delhi Police's security wing, conspired with Tiwari for "ensuring undue favours related to transfers and postings of public servants" and paid him a bribe of Rs 10 lakh which was to be delivered to Rajan Kumar in "coordination" with the IB official.

It was decided that Rajan Kumar, who claimed to be a senior government functionary, will keep Rs 7 lakh and Tiwari will get Rs 3 lakh, the FIR said.

In connection with the case, the CBI on Thursday conducted searches at four locations in Delhi and recovered Rs 1.6 crore in cash as well as several rubber stamps of various Ministries and fake letterheads of several government officials from the residences of the accused.
