The CBI Monday named seven police officials in its charge sheet filed before a West Bengal court in connection with the custodial death of a man in Hooghly district, an agency official said.
The case relates to Kazi Naseeruddin who was allegedly beaten to death January 2013, while he was in the custody of Dhaniakhali police.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which took over the probe following a Calcutta High Court order May 2013, in its charge sheet before the court of chief judicial magistrate, Hooghly, has named seven officials of the Dhaniakhali police station for the alleged death, said a CBI spokesperson.
