The CBI Saturday interrogated a leader of Odisha's ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sources said Saroj Sahu, who works in Naveen Nivas, the residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, was quizzed for his alleged links with the Seashore Group, a major chit fund player.
Sahu, the coordinator of the chief minister's programmes and the political secretary of the BJD, was questioned for nearly one and a half hours.
He is the authorised signatory on behalf of Patnaik to issue press releases to the media from Naveen Nivas and the BJD office.
"I have answered whatever questions were put to me by the CBI. I cannot tell you what they asked me," Sahu told reporters after coming out from the CBI office.
