The Delhi BJP leaders will meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh and demand a CBI inquiry into the diversion of the Scheduled Castes Development Fund to the 2010 Commonwealth Games, a statement said Thursday.
The demand comes two days after the union home ministry asked Delhi government to provide details of alleged diversion of funds by the previous government.
Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay slammed former chief minister Sheila Dikshit for misusing the funds, and also lambasted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which was in power in Delhi for 49 days, for not taking any action against Dikshit.
"There was connivance between Sheila Dikshit and Arvind Kejriwal to cover up the case," Upadhyay said.
"The disappearance of the file related to the case from the office of Delhi government and the silence of Kejriwal is a proof of that," he added.
Kejriwal was in power for 49 days. If he wanted, he could have instituted case of corruption against Dikshit and her cabinet, he said.
