'Celebrate this Teacher's Day in Kalam's memory'

Ahead of Teacher's Day that celebrated on September 5 every year, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited is holding a contest in memory of "great Inspiration" and former Indian president A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

The company has asked particiapnt to express "the best lesson by your favorite teacher" on TPDDL'S Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Apart from sharing experience with one's best teacher, the 10 best messages will also get an opportunity to win gift vouchers worth Rs.,1000. The contest will run September 5-10.

Praveer Sinha, the CEO & MD of TPDDL, recalled Kalam's saying: "Teaching is a noble profession that shapes the character, caliber and future of an individual."

 

"Kalam believed in PURA - providing urban infrastructure and services in rural areas - so that even people staying in villages have access to good basic services of education, health and employment," he added.

"I encourage everyone to come forward and tell us the best lesson taught by his/her teacher, and make them feel special," Sinha said.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited is a joint venture between Tata Power and the Delhi government.
