Dancing to drumbeats, chanting slogans, bursting firecrackers and distributing laddoos, hundreds of BJP workers gathered at the party headquarters here Friday to celebrate the landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls.
Armed with portrait photos of prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and wearing the Bharatiya Janata Party's saffron-coloured caps, the crowd raised slogans of "Har Har Modi" and "Bharat Mata ki jai".
Ashoka Road, where the BJP national headquarters is situated, was cordoned off and closed.
That, however, did not stop the sea of supporters, and the scene appeared like that at a fair with many folk dancers performing.
Hundreds of boxes of laddoos were distributed among the crowd, including the hundreds of police personnel and dozens of media persons camped since early morning at the BJP headquarters at 11 Ashoka road.
