The Congress on Thursday accused the Narendra Modi government of destabilising its government in Arunachal Pradesh and "RSS-isation of the northeast."
Talking to news persons here, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said the situation in Arunachal Pradesh was "in bad shape" following Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa's "unconstitutional" actions and the central government will be responsible for any deterioration of situation in the sensitive border state.
Questioning the move of the state's dissident Congress legislators as well as of the BJP to hold an assembly session on Wednesday in a community hall where they passed an impeachment motion against Speaker Nabam Rebia, Azad said several parties in parliament had seriously objected to it.
He said these legislators had met "in restaurant of a hotel" on Thursday and passed a vote of no confidence against Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and elected a new chief minister.
Noting the state assembly was to convene on January 14 but the governor brought it back to December 16, and also set the session's agenda, he called unprecedented and asked how the governor can call an assembly session without consulting the chief minister.

"In which constitution it is written that he will fix the agenda. How can deputy speaker preside over a session when the speaker is there. Can a parallel assembly be held in a community hall with support of governor who is supposed to the custodian of constitution," Azad asked.
He said there was no official staff to record the proceedings.
"Can't they wait for a better time. Can vote of confidence be discussed in a restaurant. Can this type of vote of confidence and no-confidence be entertained by the governor. What about the Constitution of India, what about cooperative federalism," asked Azad, adding these steps came after the members of parliament rededicated themselves to the ideals of constitution to mark the 125th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar.
Azad said BJP was trying to penetrate in the northeast and spread the RSS influence there.
"This is RSS-isation of northeast," he said.
Azad said Arunachal Pradesh was a sensitive border state having a long border with China and whatever steps are taken should be done with deliberation as China has deep interest in the state.
