The government on Friday said that it will come up with 'Status of India Nutrition' report in March next year where states will be ranked according to their performance under the Poshan Abhiyaan.
"The National Institute on Nutrition (NIN) will come out with the report which deals with various parameters of nutrition. It will now be compiled annually to give more frequent feedback on status of nutrition in the country," said Women and Child Development Secretary Rakesh Srivastava.
He said the ICDS-CAS rollout is moving at a good pace and more than four lakh Anganwadis will be covered by this IT tool by December this year.
"We have moved over the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) data, we cannot rely on it solely as it is not an annual report. Therefore, we will use the ICDS-CAS data to be compiled by NIN," Srivastava added.
The nutrition scheme was launched earlier in March from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan on International Women's Day by Prime Minister Modi, with the aim of bringing down stunting of the children in the age group of 0-6 years from 38.4 per cent to 25 per cent by the year 2022.
